I am very happy with the performance of the Soto TriTrail after using it on a recent 5 day BWCA trip with overnight temperatures down to 40F. The stove is very stable due to the long leg of an attached butane canister opposing the two flip-out wire legs on the stove body. The control valve operates smoothly and ignition with the built-in piezeoelectric igniter is immediate. The twist-on attachment for butane cylinders is fast and sure compared to the threaded Lindahl fittings of most canister backpack stoves. The Tyvek storage bag is reasonable dust protection but by itself is inadequate for crush protection for the finely made stove regulator and piezeoelectric igniter. The bagged stove nestles nicely into an MSR Titan 1400 ml pot. The stove is lightweight, quiet and allows the use of inexpensive pure butane fuel – excellent for warm weather backpacking use.
