The Pocket Torch uses fuel that can be purchased from most grocery stores or at your local outdoor store (along with a fill adapter). The Pocket Torch produces a flame that reaches temperatures up to 1300°C (approx. 2,300 °F). A disposable lighter increases it lifespan by 60% when used with SOTO's Pocket Torch.

I bought this torch a couple of years ago. I loved it . It made igniting or melting what ever simple and easy in all sorts of conditions,wind ,rain , damp materials. It stopped working one day and I threw it in my desk drawer. I came across it one day and thought to research how to repair it. I followed the tutorial but no luck so I contacted soto for some more help with repair. After a brief conversation Cindy asked for my address and sent me a new one , no charge, at all. I live in the middle of the pacific ocean and expect things ordered to take a while to get here. I received it in 4 days. I rarely give out the best rating because excellence is exceptional. The customer service is exceptional on top of a great product. With a very small screwdriver and a bit more investigation I discovered that the ignition wire had come lose, probably because I rolled the combustion barrel. OOPs, dont do that! Much appreciation to Cindy and Soto.

It’s cool, but has some problems.
The igniter bends easily and if it isn’t close to the edge of the metal housing you won’t get a spark.
After getting wet it takes about 2-3 minutes of blowing out the nozzle to get a flame and that flame won’t last for more than a few seconds for the first 10 or so lights. The lighter it comes with is refillable, but the metal housing on top is super cheap and bends easy. At some point mine stopped lighting at all after 10-20 uses, there is a spark and the torch will light if another lighter is used to ignite it, but the flame goes out immediately, changing the pressure doesn’t do anything.
So – cool lighter, but not so reliable. I bought a $3 butane torch at a swap meet that makes a bigger flame, has a larger reservoir, and was more reliable / quick to light after getting wet.

This is a great product. I did have some problems getting the torch to light after many uses. I called customer service and talked to Cindy. She was great and replaced the torch right away. Such service is rare these days and I believe it reflects the quality of the company and the commitment to providing the best products and service to its customers.

I like the pocket torch. It was given to me a few years ago and I had not used it. When I did want to use it it didn’t work. I contacted Soto and they quickly sent me a new torch. Great customer service. I used it to remove soldered electronics parts from a discarded circuit board. The localized heat is ideal for that application.

This is by far my favorite camping lighter. Its lightweight, windproof, and disasterproof because it uses generic lighters. It can light a great fire and you can use it as a tool to apply really good direct heat. I had two lighters. One was lost and the other broke somehow but you can contact support and they’ll help you. Great product and great support

Bought this lighter as a travel lighter for cigars. I have been told that the torch, without the lighter installed, is okay for airline travel since there is no fuel installed. The refillable lighter is close to the lighters you can buy at the airport and okay for travel. Have not yet tested this with TSA. Caution should be used when removing and refilling the lighter. There is a small tube that connects to the lighter to the torch. This can fall off and render the torch unusable. Soto is great about replacing a nonfunctional torch but this problem is avoidable.
